Bobcaygeon, once known as a “summer place”, has blossomed into an active, year round, progressive community which attracts people looking for a fulfilling, yet casual lifestyle. Due to the growth of the community over the past twenty years, there are now countless organizations that are filled with Port 32 residents happily volunteering their time, while feeling part of the larger community. The Settlers Village, Horticultural Society, Curling Club, Churches, community improvement projects, and the Bobcaygeon Music Council, are only a few of the groups that provide an outlet for your energy and enthusiasm. Another benefit to getting involved is meeting the incredibly friendly people who call Bobcaygeon home. It’s such a warm feeling when you go downtown and bump into so many people that you know. Warning…it takes much longer to get your groceries; you have to account for the time allotted to chat with so many new friends!
If you happen to be a boater, you couldn’t find a better place to anchor yourself. Being on the Trent Severn Waterway System allows you to boat from here to Georgian Bay or right out to the Atlantic Ocean if you are feeling really adventurous. The world is at your doorstep….or harbor that is. But even when you’re just hopping onto your boat to anchor out behind Boyd Island with friends for a leisurely afternoon in the sun, you feel like you are on vacation. It truly is heaven!
